The opening round of the TGRA Scholarship Series at Phillip Island was an exciting one to kick off the series. We were thrilled to get behind the wheel at our first race.
Overall, we felt strong and demonstrated impressive speed.
We had excellent practice sessions on Saturday with improvements in each session. Thank you to the team for their hard work behind the scenes to prepare the car for qualifying.
We achieved a great result in qualifying, securing the P4 position.
Race 1 began well; we were fast and maintained a strong pace, holding P2 with 2 laps remaining we were unfortunately hit from behind, this spun the car into oncoming cars with nowhere to go, resulting in a red flag and significant damage to the car.
Unfortunately getting the car ready for Race 2 was just impossible, however the team worked tirelessly to prepare the car for Round 3, aiming to collect as many points as possible in this challenging situation.
We made it just in time for Round 3, starting from the back at P38, we managed to get to P26 despite the car not being fully race-ready.
We were pleased to finish on a high note knowing we have great pace to carry into Round 2 at Sydney Motorsport Park on March 21-23.
